This is an educational institution that teaches the word of God. Sunday school classes usually precede Sunday church service and are used to provide the sound principles of God. The department divides the church into groups, namely; Children, Teens, Youth (boys), Youth (ladies), Women and Men classes.
Sunday school workers are usually lay people who are selected for their role either as teachers or secretary in the church by Sunday School Superintendent under the supervision of the pastor in charge of the church.

Missions Sunday is observed every first Sunday of the month in the local Assembly while Missions’ Day is celebrated once in a calendar year where the Missions officials direct the affairs of the church for that Sunday. The following programs are organized by the District Missions.

Media works behind the scenes to make it possible to share the gospel and project the church to large groups of people through amplified sound, recordings, social media, electronic media, print media and other forms of communication.

Purpose of Media

The purpose of Media ministry is to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to our visually-driven, ever changing world using technology and media. The use of media in the ministry is the vehicle for effectively communicating and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lagos District Media exists for the following purposes:

1. To utilize our e-church to reach the nations for Jesus Christ
2. Provide in-house media technology that will capture anointed moments of the Gospel message in order to share to others through various methods of technology, video and audiovisual devices.
3. Broadcast church experience and events to the world by way of various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc), blogging, and podcasts.
4. Provides evangelism resources by archiving the messages of Christ to distribute via CD/DVD or digital download from website.
5. To have a powerful presence on the internet that will communicate with people in today’s time.

The Lagos District Music Ministries consist of the Mass Choir, Praise Team, and the Youth Choir. While each of these arms has some unique job specifications and concentrations, they have been effectively brought together under the umbrella of “Lagos District Music” for more effective coordination and supervisions.

The District Mass Choir

This arm of the Lagos District Music Ministries has as her major obligation, the responsibility of ministering in all the major District or General Council events within her jurisdiction. Some of these obligations include: ministering in the National Easter Retreats Lagos District Zone, ministering during the District Fellowships, among others.

The District Praise Team

The Praise team has the responsibility of providing the church with spirit-filled worship and praises during District events, such as; Easter Retreat, District Fellowship, Southwest Zone 2 programs, etc.

The District Youth Choir

This is an arm of the District Youth Ministries Department that is charged with the responsibilities of providing music and choir ministrations in District Youth programs. The arm which was incorporated into the Lagos District Music Department in response to the officials’ requests has remained very impressive and effective in their ministrations.

The Protocol Department is an arm of the church saddled with the responsibility of providing a hospitable and conducive environment for visiting guest ministers (both Local and International) and church members with the sole aim of making them feel at home outside their homes.

In addition, the team also caters for the well-being of the Resident Pastor and facilitates his ministry by providing requisite support services to assist him deliver God`s message with no hindrance.

Purpose of Protocol

Generally, the ministry of protocol focuses on the following areas of responsibilities

• Assists in the seating of members and visitors.
• Provide care for the needs of the pastor during the service.
• Attend to the needs of the visiting speaker or guests of honor.
• Maintain the decorum of the service, according to the church’s tradition.
• Watch for the safety of the congregation and acting as the line of first response to medical emergencies.
• Attend to altar ministry or response ministry as people respond to the sermon’s invitation.

Ushering ministry is referred to as the help ministry according to 1 Cor. 12: 28. Ushering is a very vital ministry in the house of God which cannot be ignored.

Purpose

To set the atmosphere of the church in order, thereby making the ministry of the pastor and the church in general to be fruitful.

Mode of Operation

We serve in the church, Section and in all District and General Council Programmes. Some of our more specific assignments include;

• To Seat guests/visitors
• Giving direction within and around the church
• Placing the tithes and offering bags/boxes
• Distributing printed information to the members.
• Keeping order at the entrance of the sanctuary
• Distributing bulletins and service programs
• Handling disturbances

We usually have two ALL-NIGHT prayers in February and July each year.

The Corporate Ministry is a unit of the Assemblies of God church, responsible for the planning and execution of the dreams and visions of the leadership of the church. The vision of the Corporate Ministries came to the fore from the ingenuity of Rev. Uchechukwu Ama in the year 2003 in the days of the Rev. Dr Charles O. Osueke of blessed memory.

PURPOSE

The Corporate Ministries is responsible for packaging programmes of the General Council and Districts, Areas and Missionary Areas, down the line to the Local Churches. Programmes like Peniel, Leaders’ Retreats, National Conventions, Ministers Institutes, and other programmes of the General Council or the district.
The same goes for the district programmes like Pastor’s and Deacons Prayer and Fasting, Pastor’s Wives and Leaders Retreat, Bethel Conferences, Liberation Services as it applies to Lagos district every October.

STRUCTURE OF THE CORPORATE MINISTRIES

The Corporate Ministry as in other church ministries is administered by the Corporate Ministry Director under the close supervision of the General Superintendent at the General Council level, at the District level it is headed by the coordinator under the special supervision of the District Superintendent. Every other administrative stratum follows the same order.

THE CORPORATE MINISTRIES TEAM

The Corporate Ministries is a SYNERGY TEAM made up of the following:

a. The district superintendent as the chairman
b. The Corporate Ministries Coordinator, as the executive secretary,
c. The Prayer secretary
d. The Music coordinator
e. The Head of protocol department
f. The Head of ushering department
g. The Head of Counseling department
h. The Local church representatives; preferably, the Sunday school Superintendent, the prayer leader, the chief usher and the choirmaster.

OBJECTIVE:

The core objective of the Corporate Ministries as established by the General Council is to assist the General Superintendent at the national level and the District Superintendent at the district level, in organizing programmes that cut across all the church population, either at the General Council or the District as the case may apply. At the sectional level, he works closely with the sectional leader as the sectional representative and at the local church level; he works with the Local Church pastor.

Christ Ambassadors Students Outreach (CASOR) is an arm of Assemblies of God in higher institutions. Its primary function is to promote an enabling spiritual environment based on the word of God and faith – an environment, which encourages students to serve Jesus Christ.

The establishment of campus ministry was instrumental in spreading the Gospel of Christ and increasing the number of Assemblies of God family on campuses.
The department is headed by a president chosen among students under the leadership of the District Coordinator within the jurisdiction.
Rooted in the spirituality of its founding of Pentecostal movement, CASOR advocates the principal of Jesus Christ on campus.

Purpose of CASOR

We exist to:

1. Seek and save the lost in tertiary institutions
2. Be an anchor for apostolic students during a trying season of life
3. Be a training ground for future ministry
4. Create an atmosphere to know God on campus
