SUNDAY SCHOOL
This is an educational institution that teaches the word of God. Sunday school classes usually precede Sunday church service and are used to provide the sound principles of God. The department divides the church into groups, namely; Children, Teens, Youth (boys), Youth (ladies), Women and Men classes.
Sunday school workers are usually lay people who are selected for their role either as teachers or secretary in the church by Sunday School Superintendent under the supervision of the pastor in charge of the church.
Purpose of Sunday school
1. Sunday school is the reaching arm of the church
2. Sunday school is the teaching arm of the church
3. Sunday school is the winning arm of the church
4. Sunday school is the caring arm of the church
Mode of operation
Sunday school holds every Sunday morning in the local Assembly. The following programs are organized by the District Sunday school;
1. District Sunday school fellowship
2. District Sunday school seminar
Special Sunday school events
1. Loyalty campaign (annual)
2. October Enlargement campaign (annual)
3. Worker’s Appreciation day ( Once in two years)
4. Pastor’s Appreciation Day (once in two years)
